We also ended up hanging around for recess. Joey enjoyed playing with the “big kids”.

Elizabeth’s Day
Carolyn and I wanted to spend some time one-on-one with Elizabeth today before she started 1st grade tomorrow. We had a nice time at the mall where we played some mini-golf and had some lunch. Elizabeth had her first hole-in-0ne today!!!

A morning of Geocaching
This morning I took the kids out for their first Geocaching adventure.
Geocaching is defined on Geocaching.com as, “Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.”
The kids really enjoyed themselves. We did walk a little over a mile at a park reserve that I didn’t even know existed. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was out and it was a little cool. Perfect for walking the trails of a park reserve.
We searched out two caches that were setup by the same family. These were specifically kid friendly caches with little difficulty. Both Elizabeth and Joey lit up each time that we found the “treasure”. When asked, they seemed to be interested in doing it again. I hope that we can progress to more difficult caches as they get older 🙂
As a reward, we grabbed some custard from Culver’s for after lunch, yummy!
If you are interested to learn more about Geocaching, visit Geocaching.com. I was able to use an application called “BlackStar” on my Blackberry to find the caches. It is a free application that can be found in Blackberry Application World or directly by clicking here.
