I took advantage of a team outing at Target Field to bring Joey to his first Twins game today. I have wanted to do this since he was born and I hope it is the first of many games that we can attend together. Happy birthday buddy!

Hanging with great friends tonight
Fun at the pool
Family fun at the cabin for an entire week
We spent the entire last week at the cabin. We had everyone up from our family with exception of Katie. As usual the kids had a blast together and the adults had their own fun. We played in the water, boated, visited “Florida Point”, spent a lot of time at the Tiki Bar and Sand Bar, watched fireworks, attended a parade, played mini golf, went through a huge maze, and hung out with friends.
The weather could not have been better, there were only a couple of small instances of rain that occurred mostly during sleeping hours and the water was very refreshing.
**Disclaimer – I have a little tradition with the kids, they like when I shave my beard, I only do this when we have a long vacation. Don’t be scared 🙂

Two weekends away
The last couple of weekends we went camping with Carolyn’s family and the next we spent at the cabin. We really lucked out on weather both times considering there was rain back at home 🙂

The kids really enjoyed time with their cousins
The next weekend we were off to the cabin and enjoyed some really nice weather (compared to many weekends so far this summer). Nix and Jen joined us for the weekend. Nix, Big Joe, and I went on an adventure to the other lake breaking through beaver dams and bogs to get to the other side.

The kids fished, played with friends, and swam in the lake. Nix and I jumped off the dock with Elizabeth (video in photoset and below).

Hammock time
After working around the house all morning I enjoyed a little hammock time
with the kids in the sun.

Memorial Day Weekend
We had a great weekend at the cabin this weekend. We partied with neighbors, saved a old turtle from getting run over, played in a human hamster ball, played Dave’s new shuffleboard, and played bingo at the legion.

2011 Delta Block Party in Atlanta
We missed the MSP block party last year because we were at the cabin. The same conflict was scheduled this year. I thought that it would be fun to take Carolyn and the kids down to see where I stay and work when I visit Atlanta.
We headed down on Friday morning through Nashville (thanks Justin) and ended up at the hotel in the early evening. It was a lot of fun taking the kids through the airport and to the hotel where I usually stay. They were very curious and the mystery of where I am is now gone. The hotel staff upgraded our room for us which was really nice to have the extra space. We went swimming and then off to “Joe’s” for some dinner. The kids were sleeping until the hotel fire alarm went off and woke us all up 🙂 We were then off to the block party. The kids experienced some Georgia heat and were worn out pretty quickly. Especially Elizabeth who had dance performances late into the night two times earlier in the week.
We had a great time and we were home around dinner only about 24 hours after arriving in Atlanta this evening.
BTW, it was fun following Twitter via #DLBlockParty to keep up with what was happening.

Our pre-school graduate Joey
Tonight Joey celebrated his graduation from pre-school. We held him back a year so he pretty much has a doctorate of pre-school 🙂 We are very excited for you to attend kindergarten next year buddy. Good job Joey!
