Cabin weekend w/Lenzen family

On our second cabin gathering for the summer along with many others (23 in total at the cabin!) we had a great time. On a windy day we had fun playing mini golf and driving carts. The following day the wind cut down and we spent a BEAUTIFUL day on the lake. We used every flotation device to get all 23 of us over to ‘Florida Point’. Kyle and I used a two person floaty with the help of the good Captain powering us over. We also sat on the lake with no wind for over an hour under the bright moon which was an absolute treat.

Joey’s 10th Birthday Party

Joey had won some tickets to play paintball earlier in the year. When we asked him what he wanted to do for his birthday he said, “paintball”. He and three buddies joined him for some fun on a beautiful summer day. They were a bit hesitant at first but then started to get a feel for the ‘game’ as I tried coaching from the sidelines. Joey had finally advanced and did well. On his way back after a victory I was praising him until I heard some sniffling. I asked what happened and he showed me a nice welt on his neck. The next game he was hit on the inside of his bicep and was pretty timid after that. Hopefully time will let him forget and he’ll be back 🙂 A good day all around for fun!

4th of July – 2015

This year at the lake was wonderful. We had beautiful weather, lots of time on the water, time with family and friends, and ended it with fireworks before heading home. Unfortunately, I am missing many pictures because my phone is at the bottom of the lake 🙁

Cabin weekend with the Lenzen family

Lot’s of family joined us in June along with the Lenzen family for a weekend of fun. All three brothers were up with friends. We went to upper Loon, the girls did some shopping, we played games, stayed up late, and played in the water.

Memorial Day Weekend – 2015

We enjoyed two days of sun at the cabin which was great. The kids played and Elizabeth braved the cold water on the paddle board. Joe, Nix, and I took our annual trip to ‘Upper Loon’ with a few guests and we reconnected with friends that we had not seen over the winter.

Summer trip to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and Mt. Rushmore

This trip has been planned since this time last summer and the time finally came. We went there with the Lenzen family and spent time with three other families at Yellowstone. A broken foot and a ear infection were the two issues that we had. Ruby is one tough cookie and Kyle was an animal carrying her to Inspiration Point. The bottom line is that the weather was terrific and we had a great time!

We took our time getting to Yellowstone by leaving a few days ahead of time. We stopped in Alexandria, MN then Medora, ND, and finally to Livingston, MT before entering the park. Once ‘there’ we spent four days in the Madison Campground at Yellowstone, another four days and Colter Bay in the Tetons, two days in Spearfish, SD.
