This morning I took the kids out for their first Geocaching adventure.
Geocaching is defined on Geocaching.com as, “Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache’s existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS device can then try to locate the geocache.”
The kids really enjoyed themselves. We did walk a little over a mile at a park reserve that I didn’t even know existed. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was out and it was a little cool. Perfect for walking the trails of a park reserve.
We searched out two caches that were setup by the same family. These were specifically kid friendly caches with little difficulty. Both Elizabeth and Joey lit up each time that we found the “treasure”. When asked, they seemed to be interested in doing it again. I hope that we can progress to more difficult caches as they get older
As a reward, we grabbed some custard from Culver’s for after lunch, yummy!
If you are interested to learn more about Geocaching, visit Geocaching.com. I was able to use an application called “BlackStar” on my Blackberry to find the caches. It is a free application that can be found in Blackberry Application World or directly by clicking here.
The girls had a great time as always. Brynn is getting around really well and likes the taste of our sand

And Paige was the natural who could even turn!
It’s been a busy few weeks for our family.
Uncle David and Uncle Stan each stopped by for a visit.
Carolyn and the kids went with the Keller’s and Bruski’s to the Como Zoo
We went to the Wold family reunion in Starbuck
Vacation Bible School
Camping with the Moilanen’s at Kamp Dels. We had a great time celebrating Halloween in the summer. Too much fun!
Elizabeth on the diving board…
Joey’s turn on the diving board…
We’re sitting here tonight having a good time with Halloween in the summer, everyone is trick-or-treating and it starts pouring. Carolyn and I start to pick stuff up and Joey yells out, “Don’t forget the Captain Morgan Daddy!” Carolyn and I don’t know where he picked that up!?
Carolyn and the kids went to the Dakota County Fair tonight with Uncle David and others. The kids came home with big smiles on their faces. They had a great time
